Como no me gustaba para nada la interfaz “blades”, el miércoles pasado me conecté a Xbox LIVE para bajar la Nueva Experiencia Xbox o NXE (siglas de New Xbox Experience).
Una de las nuevas funcionalidades de la NXE es la creación de avatares, lo que me vi más o menos obligado a probar aunque de veras necesitaba dormir. Los avatares no son algo nuevo; ya teníamos Miis en la Wii por ejemplo.
Pas fan du dashboard “blades” c’est avec impatience que je me suis connecté sur Xbox LIVE mercredi dernier pour télécharger la “Nouvelle Expérience Xbox” ou NXE (pour New Xbox Experience).
Une des nouvelles fonctionnalités de la NXE est la création d’avatars, que je me suis vu plus ou moins obligé de tester, même si j’avais vraiment, vraiment besoin de dormir. Les avatars ne sont pas quelque chose de nouveau ; nous avions déjà les Miis sur la Wii par exemple.
We’ve been waiting for it impatiently—or at least I have. It was initially rumored for October, but Microsoft officially announced yesterday at TGS 2008 that the new Xbox 360 Dashboard will be rolling out on November 19.
It will be available in 26 countries and localized in 19 languages. As you can see from the screenshot above (and more in this Joystiq gallery), not only are we getting a completely different user interface, but the experience will change too as this new version focuses strongly on bringing you and your friends closer to the Xbox by introducing avatars and allowing more interaction among friends.
Do you know the Sysinternals tools?
You probably do if you’re an IT pro or a developer. For those who don’t, it’s a series of free utilities written by Mark Russinovich that are essential to manage, troubleshoot and diagnose your Windows systems and applications. I even need one of the Sysinternals tools for my classes: ZoomIt allows you to zoom and draw on the screen.
Microsoft acquired Sysinternals some time ago and since then the tools have been available, always for free of course, from the TechNet website.
¿Conocen las herramientas Sysinternals?
Probablemente sea el caso si son profesionales de la informática o desarrolladores. Para aquellos que no conocen, se trata de una serie de herramientas gratis escritas por Mark Russinovich que son esenciales para administrar, diagnosticar y reparar sus sistemas y aplicaciones Windows. Yo inclusive necesito una de las herramientas Sysinternals para mis clases: ZoomIt permite magnificar y dibujar en la pantalla.
Microsoft adquirió Sysinternals hace un tiempo y desde entonces los programas han estado disponibles, gratis por supuesto, en la página de TechNet.
Connaissez-vous les outils Sysinternals ?
C’est probablement le cas si vous êtes professionel de l’informatique ou développeur. Pour ceux qui ne connaissent pas, il s’agit d’une série d’utilitaires gratuits écrits par Mark Russinovich qui sont indispensables pour gérer, dépanner et diagnostiquer vos systèmes et applications Windows. J’ai même besoin de l’un des outils Sysinternals pour mes cours : ZoomIt vous permet de zoomer et de dessiner à l’écran.

Hier soir s’est déroulée la finale française de la catégorie Software Design de l’Imagine Cup de Microsoft. Sept finalistes, dont deux équipes SUPINFO, se disputaient la première place qui leur permettrait de représenter les couleurs de leur école et de leur pays à la finale internationale qui se déroulera du 3 au 8 juillet 2008 à Paris.
C’est en présence notamment d’Eric Boustouller–Directeur Général de Microsoft France, de Jean-Louis Missika–Adjoint au Maire de Paris, chargé de l’innovation, de la recherche et des universités, et de Chantal Jouanno–Présidente de l’Agence de l’environnement et de la maîtrise de l’énergie, mais aussi de notre Président, Alick Mouriesse, que cette première place, tant convoitée, à été décernée à l’équipe Smart Cooking, constituée de Régis Hanol et Gauthier Chanliau–SUPINFO Montpellier, Sébastien Warin–SUPINFO Lille, et Jean-Noël Gauthier–Gobelins.
A few weeks ago I posted the pictures of the Imagine Cup conference that took place in Paris and during which I had the opportunity to interview Bill Gates.
An event like that was of course filmed and now the videos are also available for online viewing and for download from the web site of Microsoft France.

For a long time I’ve followed the same routing on Christmas day:
Wake up, unwrap presents, have breakfast, watch a movie, visit relatives.
Of course, over time, things have changed slightly. Most notably, the time I wake up, that fact most presents are actually opened the night before, breakfast became brunch and most of my relatives now live a 14-hour flight away.
Movie time didn’t change, though, and today’s was The Devil Wears Prada.
